Y'know what? I'm currently on a grave shift. And I've decided it's time for some blogging.
I mean some nitty gritty, soul-searching, thought-provoking, gut-wrenching, unicorn-breeding, dragon-slaying, partridge-in-a-pear-tree-giving, coke-snorting, money-to-a-hobo-giving blogging.
I'm not sure what I was trying to do there...stuff just kept coming out.

My little sister Sica got married on Saturday. Her husband is rad. And TALL. I noticed while standing in line at the reception that my sisters and I are inversely as tall as our spouses. I'm the tallest of the three of us (and I'm only 5'3") and have the shortest spouse (5'7"). Sica is tiny (4'10", I think) and her husband Jim is the tallest (6'a billion"). Liz and Tomas are somewhere in the middle... I just thought it was funny.
On the short/wedding topic: I almost started to cry during the ceremony. I mean, my babiest of sisters was getting married. I still see her as my baby sister. It's weird to think she's married. Anyway, as I was just about to cry, I looked over and saw my mom sitting in her chair and noticed something awesome. Her feet were dangling about 2 inches off the floor! I had to stifle a laugh. As I walked out afterward, I gave my mom a hug and said, "You have short legs."

(I'm eating lemon heads...and they're amazing.)

About a year after getting home from Iraq, thePatrick and I finally got the chance to record some songs and put them up on myspace for our friends to check out. Well, two years later (a couple weeks ago) I got a message from a production company saying they'd like to put one of our songs on a compilation. I was ecstatic. The only issue was the $165 fee. Luckily, I was able to coerce some friends into helping me out with donations and have raised $108 so far! My stepdad has offered to pay whatever difference remains if I don't have it all raised by the 13th. He wins.
Hopefully, this will be the start of my meteoric rise (haha) to stardom. Eventually, I hope to be to the point where I can demand that U2 open for me.

I'm growing more and more fond of The Faint lately. I mean I freaking love them. A while back I posted about longboarding around campus with them cuddling with my eardrums. I've since come the the desicion that they are my favorite band to longboard to. I found it particularly amusing last semester when I bif'd it coming down the hill a wee bit too fast while listening to their song 'Take Me To The Hospital'. I'm pretty sure 'The Conductor' is my favorite by them.
Their bass-lines are really fun to play, too.

I've been thinking about my major lately. Or rather, actually declaring one. I really want to do music composition. I know I've got it in me, I just need to learn the freaking fundamentals. For example, I can't read music. I play and learn by ear. I can read guitar tabs, but that's really about it. It has come to my attention that many beginning music classes expect students to already be able to read music. So guess what I get to work on this summer?

I've still got Mike TV's phone number in my phone. That's freaking awesome to me. If I use it, would that make me a creepy fan-boy? Hmm...

Last fall I randomly stumbled upon some guy's blog. Since discovering it (in September, perhaps?) I have read every daily post he's put up. I find it quite amusing. And interesting that I find the anecdotes of a complete stranger so amusing.

I failed my New Year's resolution, horribly. I was going to practice writing songs. I was going to write one a week, no matter how goofy or dumb I thought it was. I got one done. And I don't even remember it.
---
I said last week sometime that I was going to go private. And that Sunday was when it was going to happen. I changed my mind...for now. Those of you whose e-mails I have don't need to worry about giving them to me again should I decide to do it. Mostly the reason I'm not is because I'm really calm lately and don't so much feel like ranting.
---
And with that, I'm really tired. So I'm going to stop being clever and close this thing out for tonight.
Later.
That is all.

First off sorry I can't contribute anything I am pretty strapped for cash right now until I get a job which will be hopefully soon.
I don't think I knew you couldn't read music. I could have helped you! I took piano for 5 years (un)fortunately. Oh well good luck and your goals and school.
Good post Norte, Patrick and I also were commenting that you all married peeps taller than you.
another inverse proportion: you, the shortest guy, are married to Catherine, the tallest girl; Sica, the shortest girl, married to Jim, the tallest guy. And Thomas and Liz in the middle.
Yes mom...that's exactly what I was saying...
